Monique Quarrells Promoted To EVP/COO at Texas DPS Credit Union
Texas DPS Credit Union (TXDPSCU) has announced the promotion of Monique Quarrells to the position of Executive Vice President (EVP)/Chief Operations Officer (COO). In this new capacity, Quarrells will oversee all day-to-day operations of the Credit Union, foster change, and continue to cultivate a member and employee experience that is truly exceptional.
“Joining TXDPSCU turned out to be the best decision I’ve made as I have witnessed the strength, unity, and resilience of this organization from the staff to the members,” said Quarrells. “We’ve had some tough times together navigating the COVID shutdowns, ever-changing regulations, and the volatile economy, but every day, I show up knowing that if I keep pushing, we will continue to make real differences in the lives of our members and their families. From being a part of the New Trooper Recruit graduations to helping long–time members deal with financial matters after the loss of a loved one, I am so grateful for each interaction that makes working for Texas DPS Credit Union truly special. I am proud to continue to serve this organization in my new capacity of EVP/COO and commit to keeping it thriving for generations to come.”
Since joining the credit union in 2020, Quarrells has served in a few capacities: Operations Manager, then VP of Operations, and now as the acting EVP/COO. During her tenure, Quarrells has continued to support the growth of the credit union and has had many accomplishments, including launching new products and digital-first services, such as online account opening, online loan payments using debit/credit cards, Card Management features, Personal Line of Credit loan product, and a new suite of improved Visa Credit Cards including a Rewards Card.
According to President/CEO Cassy Sass, “When Monique joined the team in 2020, it was apparent she would be a key contributor to the credit union’s success. Her professionalism and dedication can only be matched by her persistence and unwavering commitment. Monique has the knowledge, drive, and desire to take TXDPSCU to the next level, and I am honored to have her partner with me to lead this organization into the future.”
