Coats for Kids Coat Drive

Did you know that 52% of children in Austin ISD and 62% of children in Del Valle ISD are economically disadvantaged? These children are in our backyard and spend many cold mornings waiting for their school bus.

Coats for Kids partners with Jack Brown Cleaners, iHeartRadio, and KVUE to collect and distribute coats to Central Texas children in need, up to 18 years old. This year, Texas DPS Credit Union is supporting Coats for Kids to help make a difference in these children’s lives. We are holding a coat drive from November 7 – December 2, 2022, and we need your help!

Here’s how you can participate:

1. Donate coats to our drive: We will have a bin for you to drop off new or gently used coats. The bin is located in the lobby of the credit union at 621 W. St. Johns Ave. in Austin until December 2, 2022. Coats for Kids is especially in need of coats sizes 7/8 and 10/12.
2. Donate dollars: Every $20 donated to Coats for Kids buys a new coat for a child in need. You can donate online at jlaustin.org/coats by clicking “DONATE,” or texting “GIVEATX” to 243725.
3. Donate through our gift registry: You can purchase a coat from a registry that will be delivered directly to The Junior League of Austin.
4. Social Media: When you donate a coat, please let others know by posting on social media. Please tag us and use the hashtag #coatsforkidsatx.
