Protecting Your Information: A New Security Feature Explained
At Texas DPS Credit Union, keeping your information secure is one of our top priorities. We are pleased to announce an added login security feature that helps guard your information by adding another layer of identity verification to your online financial transactions. This new feature will go into effect in the coming weeks.Â
How does the new security feature work?
- When logging into Online Banking, you will receive a one-time 6-digit verification code by text or voice using the phone number we have on file.
- You will be asked to enter the code to complete your login.
- This new verification process replaces the security questions previously used when logging into Online Banking.
- This feature is also available in our mobile app.
Why is this feature important?
Multi-factor authentication helps protect your account by confirming it’s really you before access is granted. Even if someone knows your password, they won’t be able to access your account without the verification code sent to your phone.
Your Next Steps
Review your contact information in your Online Banking profile and make sure we have your current:
- Cell phone number (or direct phone number)
- Email address
It is important that we have your correct and up-to-date contact information or you will not be able to access Online Banking.Â
Below is a short walkthrough video showing you exactly where to update your contact information in your Online Banking profile.
