Election of Directors

An election for two places on the Board of Directors is scheduled for March 25, 2021, in conjunction with the Annual Business Meeting. The Nominating Committee has completed its evaluation of potential candidates for positions on the Texas DPS Credit Union’s Board of Directors in accordance to its bylaws. The committee nominated the members below to serve as directors for a three-year term.

Texas DPS Credit Union bylaws permit other nominations by petition, if signed by 500 qualified members on a Board approved form. Other requirements include a brief statement of qualifications and signed certificate stating the nominee is agreeable to such nomination and will serve if elected. All required documents must be submitted to the TXDPSCU’s Administration Department by 5 PM CST on February 8, 2021. The election will be conducted by electronic or mail ballot only if there exists one or more petition candidates. Bylaws do not allow nominations from the floor at the Annual Business Meeting.

Paul Jordan is currently the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Texas DPS Credit Union. He has served on the Board since 2000 to the present. He has previously served on the Credit Committee from 1990-2000 and has been a Member of the TXDPSCU since 1977. Paul retired from DPS in 2008 after serving the citizens of Texas as an Intelligence Analyst for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Paul began and continues serving the citizens of Williamson County as an Intelligence Analyst for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. In his spare time, Paul continues serving his church community as their Clerk of Session, enjoys seasonal gardening and solving the daily crossword puzzle.

David Outon is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Texas DPS Credit Union. He has served on the Board since 2015 to the present. He has previously served on the Credit Committee from 2004-2007 and 2013-2015 and has been a Member of the TXDPSCU since 1978. David retired from DPS in October 2007 as Captian after serving almost thirty years. During his time at DPS, he held positions in the Highway Patrol, as an instructor at the Training Academy, and was the Captain over the Internal Affairs unit. David has a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Texas State University and was a graduate of the 160th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. David currently is the owner of a private investigations company.
