Member Notice: Winter Storm Uri Response

During the recent Winter Storm Uri, many business and residents across Texas endured an unprecedented winter storm. It brought on challenges never faced and revealed opportunities for enhancements.

The credit union experienced a service disruption to our Online and Mobile Banking services the week of the storm. This is a situation we have never experienced before. The data center for the credit union’s online banking platform is located here in Texas and was impacted as well.

Due to an electrical power outage and the prolonged winter storm conditions, the service outage lasted over multiple days even with the efforts of a business continuity plan in full action. Our service provider was able to provide information about enhancements to optimize resiliency going forward utilizing the lessons learned from this incident. They have also relocated the online banking platform to a new data center in Georgia, which will enhance these efforts.

As your credit union, we are deeply committed to provide you with outstanding service and be there when you need us. We apologize for any hardship the service outage brought to you. In response to the winter storm, the credit union is working to enhance our preparedness with you top of mind.
