In order to reduce the amount of Visa debit card fraud that Texas DPS Credit Union members’ experience, our organization has taken steps to ensure that certain non-US transactions cannot be processed. We have blocked transactions for our Visa debit card product in countries that we have identified as high risk for either past or future fraudulent activity based on information from the National Credit Union Association and the experience of our individual member accounts.

While we do not wish to identify specific countries that have been blocked for security reasons, if you are traveling abroad and wish to use your debit card, please contact Texas DPS Credit Union directly. We will need three pieces of information in order to activate your card for overseas activity: the card number you will be using, the nation(s) you will be travelling to, and the dates of your travel.

While the Visa debit card program is protected by a neural network of fraud monitoring and monitoring for unusual or suspicious daily activity, the sophistication of fraud perpetrators is growing daily. Texas DPS Credit Union has taken these steps to ensure that your money remains safe from fraud or the possibility of account takeover. Texas DPS Credit Union Will Never Request information from our members regarding card or account numbers with the exception of member contact with the credit union for the purpose of conducting normal business.

We Will Never Contact Our Members To Request card numbers or account numbers.

Nor Will We Ever Request personal information from a member for purposes other than for the establishment of identity.

In order to protect your credit card account from potential fraud, Texas DPS Credit Union has partnered with a third party that monitors your account for any suspicious activity. If a charge appears to be potentially fraudulent, a representative of Falcon alert may contact you in order to inform you of the transaction. Falcon representatives will never ask for your account information. This is the only case in which a non credit union employee would have reason to contact you.
